Services are provided at home, in schools, summer camps and other community settings and are provided by a coordinated team of professionals. These could include:

  • A Psychiatrist - evaluation, assessment, medication management (if needed)

  • A Psychologist - conducts a comprehensive bio-psycho-social evaluation and recommends and prescribes specific treatment services

  • A Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) - The BSC develops the treatment care plan, including specific interventions to be used by parents, teachers and other caregivers to help the child meet treatment goals.

  • The BSC is head of the treatment team and coordinates the efforts of everyone involved in the child’s treatment.

  • A Mobile Therapist (MT) - The MT provides intensive child-centered, family focused therapy using a variety of strength based interventions in the home and community settings.  Specific techniques may vary according to individual needs.

  • Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) - The TSS provides one to one therapeutic interventions. The TSS works with the child in the presence of parents, teachers, and other caregivers. The TSS is responsible for implementing the treatment plan that the BSC has developed.  The TSS interventions may include: positive behavioral reinforcement, emotional support, time structuring activities, timeout strategies, crisis intervention techniques and other psychological rehabilitation activities that are outlined in the treatment plan.

  • Case Manager (CM) - The CM maintains relationships with the Wrap Around team, other professionals and family members to ensure coordination of effort of all involved. The CM maintains contact with the insurance carrier so that the appropriate level of services are provided. The CM advocates on behalf of the child and their family, maximizes use of community resources and facilitates discharge and follow up care.

We help children struggling with various mood, thought and resultant behavior disorders. These may include: Adjustment Disorders, Agitation, Anxiety, Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavior Disorders, Conduct Disorders, Fears, Grief & Loss, Phobias, Physical & Sexual Abuse, Traumas, and, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Progressions follows Child Adolescent Service Program (CASSP) principles in our services to children and adolescents. All of our services are: child centered, family focused, community based, multi-system, culturally competent, least restrictive; least intrusive.

Who is eligible? How are these services funded?

BHRS is provided by the state through Medical Assistance. However, the most important element in a child’s eligibility is medical need/necessity.  If you do not have Medical Assistance but your child is in need of treatment, we can help you qualify. Once you qualify for Medical Assistance (M.A.) all of our services are covered.
